Ok I'm a level 15.4 Scholar. headed to be a jeweler.

here is what I started doing this morning before the server came down.

I figure. I will spend level 15 Refining all the Materials I have
40+ Iron
60+ Electrum
80+ Torquise

I thought I would spend this whole level refining it in to usable pieces. cause I figure I'm going to have to refine that at some point anyway. and might as well do while I'm a lower level. get more xp. then when it's all refined. I should be able combine Final products enmass. Rocketing me through lvls 16-17 at least

so advice comments?
turning all Torquise into Refined then into Faceted gems
turning all iron in to REFINED, then thinking a ton of Iron Hooks for Braclet prodcution
Turning all Electrum into REFINED. then whatever the component is for Bracelets.

like I said. boring now. but will have to spend the time doing it anyway. so figure maybe great to make it all now. then spend all the time making final products.

i would say to use half of those tuquise making tempers. either sell the tempers or use it to refine everything else.... no need having all those things. eolith tempers can make alot of money from the other crafters.
but yeah... if you have a huge stockpile of resources refine everything first. you may get skill ups or even a level, wich will help when you make the harder "finished" products.
at least this is my usual method....

I didn't even touch a piece of jewelry till I hit level 17-18. From level 3-14 all I did was process raw materials. I didn't care what it was. Early on I harvested tin as much as I could because processing tin and tin Spikes is very easy and you don't even have to watch the screen. There are no counters to come up with doing the tin and tin Spikes. Then I moved on to what ever raw material I had. I would make the wash's, oil's, tempers what have you then turn the rest of the materials into first level material then second level material then sell it to the vendor.

This can get you through levels early on fairly quickly. Also this goes without saying, but I harvested like there was no tomorrow. I was one of the top five people to get out in Antonica to harvest Tier2 and also one of the top people to get out in the Steppes to harvest Tier3 items this helps a ton as there is less competition for the resources.

Once you hit your late teens you can just continue to do the same thing. Harvest a ton of materials (Everything), and process them. I don't recommend going completely to finished items unless you want the extra cash as it isn't worth the time/exp until you are a bit higher level.

Once you hit level 20 jeweler you now want to continue to harvest everything you can including gathering, foresting and trapping along with mining. You will be able to trade different materials to other tradesmen for items you need as well as sell them on the broker. You don't get any gold or agate jewelry until you make level 21 but getting through level 20 is very easy because everything is new and you will have a lot of materials to process if you kept your harvesting skills maxed (You should be able to harvest in the steppes at level 18, 90 Skill).

Once you hit level 21 you should have a lot of materials processed and saved. First thing I did was buy 12, 12 slot bank boxes as you will need the space I promise you. Another thing I find helpful is to write out the recipes down to each piece needed. I count the number of gold bars, or gold clusters I have collected and figure out exactly how many of each piece of jewelry I can make is. An example is a Golden Girdle takes 1 Carbonite Stud, and 2 Gold Bars + 1 coal to make. So If I wanted to make 10 Girdles I would need 10 Carb Studs (10 Raw Carbonite, 10 Neo Tempers, 10 Coal), and 20 more bars for the Gold pieces. I write down exactly what I need down to the coal and work on each piece one by one. I figure out what tempers, oils and resins I need and place my order with the local Alch. (Or make my own Tempers and stuff. I did scribe the 20 Alch book before I knew it was an "exploit" so early on I made my own. Let me tell you it's not that big of a deal as some Alch's will lead you to believe. For one your Alch skill caps out at 100, and making 100's of tempers at that skill level is painful at best. So now I just buy them as I'm supposed too.. What it’s nice for is, Oh I'm short 3 tempers.. I can whip out 2-3 pretty easy to get me through) Once I have the Tempers, resins etc from the Alch. I start processing the raw materials. I make a list of everything I need. 20 Gold Settings, 40 Gold Sheets, 20 Gold Ornaments etc. I create them and check them off the list. This helps with a couple of things. One you don't waste raw materials making something you don't want, and it helps with space management. Check off the tempers, resins and oils, Studs, Hooks and Links.
I then go bank every single thing extra I have when I have all the items processed since jewelry does not stack.. (BLEH) Get 12 slot bags as SOON as you can. It's a life saver! Then start cranking out your jewelry. NOTE: If you are close to leveling at this point STOP continue to process items that are not the final product until you level. This will allow you to increase you skill from leveling up (Every 20% also) and will give you a greater chance to get pristine. Start making what you set out to make. I would recommend NOT selling anything to a NPC Vendor once you hit level 20. There is just to much money to be made selling Fashioned and Pristine jewelry to the unwashed masses.. :)

So in conclusion harvest till your eyes bleed, save money for bags and bank boxes, don't create final products till you are 21+ (Unless you have customers or other reasons), manage your materials well, save space and buy a vendor board as soon as you can.

One last thing I'm kind of curious what people are selling gold/agate jewelry for? I have been pricing my jewelry anywhere from 55-65s per (Gold Bangles and Bands) to 95-1g5s for Gold Torque's and Gold Hoops. If an item is pristine I only charge 10s more since some times the fashioned item has better stats for some people. At these rates I sell out of 50+ jewelry items with out to much problem over night. I will confess I’m the highest jeweler on my server (That I know of) and I did have the market completely to myself for a few days but I have no problem making 40-50g a night. (After about 4-5 hours of cranking out jewelry pieces.)

I want to also know if any of the 25+ jewelers out there find that since the patch yesterday or the day before it seems to be a bit more difficult to make pristine items even if ALL of the components are pristine. Also I seem to have a most difficult time making pristine faceted agates for some reason. I only get pristine about 25% of the time. All other components I can make pristine about 80-90% of the time.

As a scholar, I gained 1.75 levels in a single day by making every poison and then every potion I could, as well as the subcomponents. The 2-3x bonus xp reward for new combines makes this probably the most efficient method of leveling I've found yet.

While alchemy really stinks atm as far as finished products is concerned, it is a great method of grinding tradeskill levels.

There's a link to an Excel document HERE (http://www.mboards.eqtraders.com/eq2/showthread.php?t=795) that makes finding which poisons/potions to do next easy.

Until you can get the 12 slot bags just carry round 6 of your boxes. You may not be able to move fast but you can move ;) :D
