Please post here if you see an issue with the main site (obviously not the boards) being down.

Racknine is going to have a bot monitor this thread.

Go ahead and detail the problem you are seeing too when you see a problem with the main site.

Aditionally. We will NOT respond to threads and such in this post. We want this to stay as post free as posible for Racknine, and ONLY have posts when there is an issue.

12:21 am - unable to log in to edit site, unable to load main site (DNS/server not found error)
12:25 am - unable to log in to edit site, unable to load main site (DNS/server not found error)
12:37 am - able to access site edit page, but crashed (DNS/server not found error) when trying to edit guide
12:42 am - site loading in molasses mode, approx 60 seconds to load
12:50 am - able to edit article, crashed (DNS/server not found error) when trying to save edits ... twice
12:54 am - finally able to post edited article
1:07 am - site took about 30 seconds to load

Gallenite just posted the following on the SOE forums:

While we continue to work on the issues that have kept the EverQuest II servers unavailable today, we wanted to let you know that in addition to the experience and tradeskill debt wipes that were announced earlier, we will also be offering free time to help make up for the time you're unable to play. Exact details regarding time extensions will be available once we get past our current problems.

I had no problem logging into EQ2 board directly.

If I try to access the EQ1 board from the link on the EQ2 board, I get

I can get to eqtraders.com fine, but there is no left hand side menu to navigate the site. eq2.eqtraders.com is fine.

I am also getting various DNS errors when registering and posting on the board - yet can browse the board fine.

Finally got to main page, but furniture link was borked.

Repeated errors ... sometimes get the cannot find server message, sometimes it connects to the database and spews errors. (from the admin site, gives too many connections errors, from the user side, several lines of PHP errors that basically mean the database is not happy)

It was an overall server problem, not a "personal" problem despite the access denied error :) Racknine was doing some sort of maintenance and it flaked out the DB for a bit. (the site itself has to "log in" to the database... and the site was being denied access... not you :) )

Niami and Co., you might want to check this thread (http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=361139) over on the official forums out if you haven't already. Apparently a lot of people are having trouble with the site, and someone from Australia said they haven't been able to get here for some time. Sorry if you already knew that, I just thought you guys should know.

I am consistently having this problem on one of my three computers, regardless of browser used. Only thing we can think of to cause it so far is some windows update or something.

I'm ready to just cry. I've ZERO clue how to deal with this, ZERO clue where to even look for clues, and I can't keep bugging hubby while he's w*rking, when he's totally not even able to see the problem from his systems.

For anyone who is able to reach these forums, but is having problems with the main site, I've got a workaround.

Use http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/news_page.php?menustr=010000000000

For some reason, specifying what menu to use is working just fine, but if it is trying to reach the news page without it, no-go.

It's not a windows update on this side - I don't let windows update itself without my explicit action. Could have been on the server side, but they usually inform you. In any case, I haven't had this problem since around 10 or 11 AM this morning, on either site.

Just as an FYI, yes, I know the main site is unreachable right now (and has been since sometime yesterday). We're waiting on a response/fix from Racknine still. :(
