The Path of the Craftsman (up to 20)

The begging part of this guide is really good for anyone, however, later on it really only applies to Craftsman. Now unlike most, I left the island with only achieving level 3 in Artisan. Initially, I did not like the system and was more concerned with getting off the island and being with my friends. Personally, I see no real advantage to staying on the island … unless you are having fun and that is what you want to do. This guide assumes that you, like me, wanted to get off the island after achieving max class level. This guide is also catered to those of Freeport. I did not level past 3 in Artisan until I was a 12th level Bard. Currently, I am a 20th level Woodworker, 14th level Bard. Here is the path that I took.
After I was a 12th level Bard, I thought I would give the Crafting side another try. As I stated before, I really did not like it while on the island. So I sat down and figured out what I wanted to be. Initially, I thought Provisioner was the route I wanted. So I looked to level up on food items. All my harvesting skills were minimal, so I ended up in Sunken City at 3 in the morning. It was me and maybe 1-3 others in the zone and they were fighting. I zoned into the docks and cleaned out all the fishing nodes and then ran freely through the zone, collecting any and all nodes that I could find. As I was level 12, I did not have to worry about any mobs attacking me, with a rare exception if I wasn’t paying attention. 7 hours later, all my harvesting skills were maxed. Occasionally, I zoned in the Graveyard and cleaned out any nodes that were at the zone in but mostly, it was all in Sunken City. I destroyed anything that was not a food item and at one point, I had to run the bank to dump food items in the bags I had in my bank and go back for more. I had ALLOT of fish, frog legs, flounder, you name it if it was a Tier 1 item for food, I had at least 2-3 stacks of most if not all of them.
Now I headed for the Dark Bargainers. I looked at all the recipes I could make online and noticed that allot of them required spice. So I made spice, made some more spice, ate lunch, came back made more spice, day dreamed of making out with Angelina Jolie, and then made more spice. I had a crazy amount of spice made. The first item I made was Baked Frog Legs, I made all I could until I had no more Frog Legs. Before I knew it I was level 4.
At this point, I got my next book, scribe it and made anything I could that was a level 4 recipie. I was lucky and I had allot of Sunfish, which I turned into Sunfish Steaks plus whatever else I could make. Before I knew it I was level 5.
Now this is where I started to notice what I call a ‘chained’ recipe. Because at level 5, I could make Sunfish Soup and Herb Encrusted Frog Legs, from the Sunfish Steaks, Baked Frog Legs, and Basil Soup Broth that I had made earlier. I kept doing as many chains as I could until finally I was a craftsman.
I did some more research and found more of these chains with food recipes. I would say 90% of all my exp gains were from food. I did make allot of quills and paper and my woodworking skills are maxed or near maxed, however, the majority of my level ups were from food. I noticed that with nearly all the wood recipies, it requires a dependency from someone else (i.e. resin, wash, etc). Not with food. All I had to do is harvest (plus vendor bought) and since all my skills were tier2, that was no problem. I went out and I harvested in CL, collecting basically everything and traded or destroyed what I did not need. Here a few more “chains” that I used to level on and I am now a 20th Woodworker, I went from level 3 Artisan to 20 Woodworker in about a week and the only really power session I had was the 7 hour harvesting in Sunken City.
Cichlid Steak (13th level Recipe): Requires 1 Golden Cichlid (harvested from fish in CL, best place I found is near Foulgore), 1 Packet of Spice, and 1 Coal.
Thyme Soup Broth (14th level Recipe): Requires 1 liquid (Vendor bought, distilled water works and so does the Acerated Mineral Water), 1Refined Thyme, and 1 Coal.
NOTE: To make Refined Thyme is a 13th level Recipe in which you need: Raw Thyme (harvested from CL), 1 Liquid, and 1 Coal.
Ok now match the number of Thyme Soup Broth you have with the number of Cichlid Steaks for:
Cichlid Soup (16th level Recipe): Requires 1 Thyme Soup Broth and 1 Cichlid Steak.
Using this chain, you end up 4 separate combines to level up on. If you need money, make Quills and Paper for Sages.
Here is a higher-level chain that I used:
1 stack of Cichlid Steaks
1 stack of Roasted Carrots
1 stack of Refined Thyme
Combined all 3 to make: Cichlid Casserole. Again, another 4 combine recipe.
To get to level 20, all it took was harvesting and I harvested everything I could get my hands on. I think I unloaded 8 stacks of pets to a member of my guild, who in turn unloaded food items to me. All it took was a little patience.
