Blackened Iron??

I have been trying to find Blackened Iron in commonlands, with no luck.
Anyone found any?
its look like cloven ore, before mining it?
where in the commonlands you found it?

its a rare harvest.. there is some speculation about being in a group increasing your chances of getting a rare harvest, but i havent tested it.

black iron is so rare right now though that it is not really worth trying to get ahold of it because it will waste more time than its worth and paying for it will just waste your money since you will prolly pay more for the black iron than someone would pay for what you make with it. (i have seen it go for over a gold on the broker system)

I have a skill of 61 mining (my current max) and of the several hundred successful mining attempts I've only recieved ONE blackened iron. I got it from a rock in antonica. I am just starting out with tradeskills so I will simply hang on to it =)

Note, skill has not a thing to do with it. It is just plain luck that the node had it :)

And we call the "Rare's" Mythical drops around here :)

I have mined 20 stacks of Iron Ore in Commonlands and have never gotten a single Blackened :confused:

Am I the only one who think that these rare components need to drop a bit more often?

I mean, the way it's going, getting all Adept spells for a caster will probably take forever if at all possible. And when those Master I drop start comming in, who will ever want an Adept III scroll?

As SoE said anything about this? The way it is at the moment, Sage can make Apprentice III, Adept III and Master III. Adept III and Master III will all require rare components I suspect and Apprentice III has been rendered almost useless because of the number of Adept I available for sales.

What good will Sage be? :mad:

I can tell you that I have done a ton of Resource gathering in Tier 2 and I have only found 1 rare...err sorry, 1 Mythical Drop thus far. BTW that was an Average Quality Badger Pelt.

Blackened Iron is currently selling on Befallen between 1g 50s and 4g at least the last time I checked a day or so ago.

I stopped counting stacks att 500 sullied pelts and 500 irons. Have yet to see a rare except the one pelt someone was selling at 10 sp (!) at the broker. Don't think I could have hit the buy button any faster than I did when i spotted that one.

Found a blackened iron cluster in Antonica near two towers.

I then proceeded to make a greatsword with it.

I missed pristine by a hair. But from what I have seen thus far the differance between pristine and forged is minimal.

This weapon is attuneable.

The iron was selling between 1gp-3gp at the time on Blackburrow.
But there was no way I was selling it. I had to use it.

I was left with 4 blackened iron ignots( non- stackable)

Any clue what these are for?

During a long harvesting session yesterday I managed to score a piece of blackened iron, which I turned into a pristine blackened iron long sword (will post stats when my girlfriend gets off main comp so I can login). I also got 4 of these blackened iron ingots after refining the iron and can't seem to find any use for them. They do sell to vendors for 50cp each, but I'm going to hang on to mine until I'm sure they're just vendor fodder.

Likewise, when making isonoid reagents, the primary ingredient of sepia dye, you are also given a by-product of isonoid loam. Does anyone know if these are just extra things that you can sell to a vendor, or is there a recipe that calls for them?

With isonoid loam (as well as the trinoid loam for lvl 10+ combine), you can make various bottles, on the jewelry desk.
