What would be your thoughts on a crafter that focused on making either pristine subcomponents? Would there be a market for someone like that? It would seem to me that if a "casual" crafter concentrated on just providing the pristine refined components at a decent price, it would benefit the hard core crafters.
Thoughts?

The only benefit to other crafters would be if they are the main component for the recipe they are making. The only benefit to pristine sub-components is better exp., which wouldn't matter if they didn't make those sub-components.

If you are talking Pristine Iron Rings, or Pristine Iron Sheet, or Iron Buckles that are needed by classes. I don't think there would be much profit in trying to sell pristine Rawhide plates to other Outfitters for instance.
