Is it just me or is this skill woefully lacking in easy skill up recipes? The easiest item you can make is the Elm Strongbox which requires just a god aweful amount of subcombines.

It seem way too many things have been flagged to use the Fletching skill. I mean totems using fletching?

Yeah im going to have to agree here. My fletching skill was 90 at lvl 17 craftsman (i dont understand this, at one point it said my max skill possible was 88, and then it continued to go up after that... very odd) yet my sculpting is only 40 ish.

Well the good news is that at least you can get skillups from trivial combines. So about 12 Elm Strongboxes later I had managed to get my Sculpting skill maxed.

Only took you 12 elm boxes? I have made now somewhere around 25 or so and my sculpting skill is only a measly 55 or so, at lvl 19 craftsman it can go as high as 97 iirc. I use every buff I can while trying to raise skills(this means downtime, but I try to maximize my potential skill gains off items I dont want/cant use), did you do something different from me? My first attempt at a maple box was only the 11 slot variety(missed 12 slot by about 10 durability =( ), so I really want to raise my sculpting skill.

No not doing anything that I wouldn't normally do on any other recipe. Are you sure you are using your Craftsman version of the scuplting skills and not the original Artisan versions? That might be making things harder if you are.

When becoming a craftsman you obtain several new buffs that increase durability and lower mana rather than increasing progress and lowering power.

These are absolutely key to good success. To sum up, there are 3 for fletching and 3 for sculpting. Try to use the one that lowers success as little as possible since this can completely drop off a tier even when durability is very good. For a tough recipe I use the one that increases durability and lowers mana by a little bit after each pulse. If durability drops like mad then I spam all 3 after each pulse....this eats up mana though so you cannot go on forever. If durability drops at a mid-pace spam just the 2 that use power and do not lower success.

For mid/easy-difficulty recipes I let everything alone unless there is an effect or my durability drops significantly. The newer buffs slow down progress at the benefit of durability, but this won't be a problem with easy recipes so you'd just slow yourself down.

Right after I dinged 15 I made 60/40 12 and 11 slot boxes. At 16 I think it is a little btter. My fletching was about 80-something?

Hope that helps!
