I am normally a nice calm Paladin. Very soft spoken and helpful. But with the flood of traffic I just want to scream at all of these posts. It has gotten to be a nightmare to find anything here. I love having all these wonderful people to talk and share opinions with (As long as you remember that mine is always right!)
I am seeing 10 posts on the EXACT same subject. People are asking questions that have been answered a dozen times. Help us keep this wonderful community clean and organized! I can see the mods working hard to clean things up, but they are only human. Everyone needs to help!
What can you do to help you ask? If you have already read all the stickies on this site and follow them you probably won't get much out of this, but here it goes.
1. Read the FAQ's, walkthroughs and other valuable info on the main site. You can get there by clicking the picture in the top left corner. It's not just there to look pretty.
2. Use your search tool! Yes it is there for a reason. Just pick what you feel to be a keyword and put it in there. It is very helpful.
3. Read through the titles of the other threads. You don't have to read through every page as there are hundreds of threads now, but it is bad when I see four threads moaning about one subject all in a row.
4. Use a descriptive title when starting a new thread. See number 3 above.
5. Read the stickies by DenMom And Ngreth at the top of each section. They contain good information that may answer your question. In addition they have the posting rules for some forums. Not every section is free-for-all. For example the database submission forum is for database submissions not asking questions or random chatter.
6. Which forum is right for your question? Think about that for at least a few seconds before posting. Pretty please, with sugar on top? You don't have to throw every single post into the General section. That just makes it more likely to get missed by the people with the detailed info you just might need. We shouldn't see questions about subclass specific recipes in the general section, but I see dozens.
We have a section for Artisan and each class and subclass. Primal Scream is where you should be putting rants (like this one). OOC is for stuff not related to tradeskills. The Marketplace is for server specific info like guilds, broker prices, society status on your server. Anything that will change from server to server goes there and asking everyone will get you answers that are true on there server, but totally wrong for yours. Why ask someone on AB if they can make you the leather you need for your next combine if your on Runnyeye?
/Takes a deep breath and sighs
I know a few other people out there feel my pain...
